For both Arendt and Cavarero, political community emerges\u00a0<i>in-between<\/i>\u00a0people who actively reveal their uniqueness to one another in the material here-and-now. In light of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and the risk of pandemics to come, how is politics and the \u201cpublic happiness\u201d of democracy to be practised when the proximity of embodied beings becomes a potentially fatal risk?
