PHILOSOPHICAL DESIGN: The First Master\u2019s Programme Returns<\/span><\/p>\n

Where thought becomes a project, an intervention, and a profession.<\/span><\/p>\n

Applications open from October 17, 2026, to January 18, 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n

Philosophy has always written and designed relationships and patterns among people, desires, and organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is the first Master\u2019s programme that envisions philosophy as a profession capable of tuning into the present and addressing its most pressing challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Master\u2019s course for those who want to bring philosophical thinking into corporations, communication, hospitals, publishing, and care settings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Philosophical design is the art of bringing to the surface hidden, elusive, dormant yet essential questions for the lives of individuals, institutions, and organizations. Philosophical design gathers complexity and contradictions, translates them, and holds them together.<\/span><\/p>\n

Contradictory issues\u2014such as those animating the contemporary world of society and institutions undergoing profound transformation and dizzying revolution\u2014ultimately become, when recognized, the most vital resource for the transformation and innovation of the institution in which one operates.<\/span><\/p>\n

Consider, for example, the world of healthcare, and more specifically hospital institutions, where the relationship between patient, physician, and caregivers increasingly reveals the need for a third party capable of grasping the demand for meaning arising from experiences of suffering, and of acknowledging (rather than bypassing) the “impossible” that every care relationship inevitably encounters.<\/span><\/p>\n

Or consider the psychoanalytic space, where a philosophical posture can help shape the question that interrogates the subject, preventing it from being reduced to immediate and futile problem-solving. Or again, the world of publishing and cultural design, where the challenge lies in anticipating emerging questions by reading and navigating multiple textual registers, constructing narratives capable of connecting diverse threads of meaning and generating spaces for reflection and dialogue. Furthermore, in philosophical counseling, one-on-one relationships are used to explore dilemmas and guide decisions, accompanying complex choices with critical thinking and long-term vision. Likewise, in the school environment, philosophy can accompany teachers and students in the co-construction of meaning through conversational practices and transformative processes.<\/span><\/p>\n

If there is one quality that unites all of philosophy throughout its millennia-old history, it is its capacity to bring to the surface an unexpressed\u2014and therefore indispensable\u2014question for the life of the subject, the institution, and the organization. For this reason, in this Master\u2019s programme we will treat philosophy neither as a cognitive resource nor as a repository of historiographical knowledge, but rather as the precise posture of a professional capable of provoking and tuning into the most urgent\u2014and thus generative\u2014issues of our present.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will achieve this by combining a philosophical posture with a specific declination of design: the discipline that studies the specific intrinsic pattern of the institution we inhabit. This study moves along a dual track\u2014organization on one hand, and social signification on the other\u2014constantly conceiving the tight relationship established between the objective material constraint to which we are bound and the human, symbolic, subjective instance that relates to the object. Design thus functions today as a system of interpretation through which it is possible to evaluate not only any institution or organization, but also its signification (symbolic, commercial, relational, etc.), extending semiotics to the core of every subjectivity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed, if our economy today is transforming predominantly into a symbolic economy\u2014where the value of economic action is determined not solely by material or functional factors, but by their symbolic and cultural meaning\u2014only those who know how to handle and connect production practices and meaning-making, shared aesthetic codes, and collective narratives conferring specific meanings to given objects or contexts will be able to add value and drive profound transformations in the economic process.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is why we have designed a curriculum that touches upon: <\/span>philosophical consultancy<\/span>, understood as the field capable of designing integrated strategies for an organization and the development of a company\u2019s economic value; <\/span>philosophy and copywriting<\/span>, exploring the red thread that connects critical thinking to persuasive communication, transforming complex concepts into effective, engaging narratives that reach a broad and diverse audience; and <\/span>organizational design<\/span>, which enables the translation of philosophical insights into concrete, innovative, and sustainable projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

The philosophical professional we train will thus be a privileged interlocutor for anyone who, in complex and uncertain contexts, must make informed decisions, manage conflicts of meaning, and enhance the symbolic dimension of their work. They will be equipped to work alongside managers, creatives, therapists, publishers, and cultural curators, helping them discern the margins of innovation and transformation that open up precisely where the demand for meaning becomes most acute and urgent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ultimately, this Master\u2019s programme aims to consolidate a new professional figure who not only knows the history and methods of philosophy, but knows how to apply them to design possible futures, shape more human and resilient institutions, and generate authentic value through the convergence of critical thinking, creativity, and strategic pragmatism.<\/span><\/p>\n

The future of philosophy is here, in our ability to inhabit the present with tools that unite reason and imagination, theory and practice, the individual and the collective. Within this horizon, every philosophical professional becomes an indispensable bridge between what we are and what we might become.<\/span><\/p>\n
