Valeria Mercandino is a PhD candidate in Human Science and Philosophy at the University of Verona. Currently, she is working on the topic of identity in processes of subjectivation, especially in relation to questions of sexuality. She studied in Rome, where she obtained her Master´s degree in Political Philosophy with a thesis about the consciousness-rising practice in the 1970s Italian feminist movements, especially focused on its philosophical implications for critical theories of the subject. She is a member of Iaph Italia – Italian editorial staff of the International Association of Women Philosophers. Moreover, she collaborates with DWF, a 40 years old Italian feminist journal, and she is an activist.
