Luca (Lou) Pinelli (they/them) has earned a PhD in Transcultural Studies in the Humanities and in Anglophone Studies between the University of Bergamo and the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, after studying at the University of Oxford (Bachelor of Arts, 2017) and the University of Bologna (Laurea magistrale, 2019). Their doctoral thesis investigated Virginia Woolf’s oeuvre through the lens of Simone de Beauvoir’s philosophy of corporeality. They currently (A.Y. 2024/2025) teach English language and translation at IUAV University of Venice, English literature at the University of Verona, and comparative literature at the University of Bergamo. Their research interests include Oscar Wilde and the British fin de siècle; Anglophone modernism from a transnational perspective; the resonances between literature, philosophy, and science; and gender and sexuality studies.
