On Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 PM, La Linea Rossa—in partnership with SEM (European Mobility Week) and the Hannah Arendt Center for Political Studies—presents the “University Social Ride.” This bicycle tour will traverse Verona’s university campuses, running from Santa Marta to Borgo Roma, to explore connections, roads, and various ways of traveling between university sites. Held as part of SEM, the University Social Ride offers a chance to cycle through key locations in university life while discussing how we navigate between them. While cycling between certain campuses isn’t yet seamless, it is becoming increasingly feasible; new bike lanes, new connections, and an expanding network are making routes possible—and visible—that were once hard to even imagine or navigate. Cycling together is also a way to assert the right to safe travel and to help build a more accessible city—one that better meets the needs of those who live in it, including the student community.
Upon arrival at the Link space in Borgo Roma, the discussion will focus on projects, data, and new connections:
-Data and student community feedback collected via the project survey, with Giacomo Mormino and Marco Carradore (UniVr);
-Current and future university mobility projects, with Nicola Frison (Rector’s Delegate for Sustainability) and Pier Giorgio Dal Dosso (UniVr Mobility Manager);
-Verona’s new cycling map, with FiabVerona and CocaiVerona.
