As part of a series of events exploring the relationship between urban design, institutions and contemporary transformations, Pietro Valle gave a lecture entitled ‘Adaptive Renaissance’, focusing on the themes developed in his book of the same name, *Adaptive Renaissance*; Libria, 2023
The event took place on 20 March 2026 at 6.00 pm at the M15 Association in Verona (Via Santa Teresa, 2).
In his talk, Valle offered a critical reflection on the relationship between the Renaissance and the contemporary world, exploring how the humanist tradition might be reinterpreted in the light of today’s social and urban transformations. Renaissance architecture, in fact, does not merely revive the classical code, but reworks it through the study of buildings and ruins, making it operational and systematic in response to the needs of a new urban society.
The event forms part of the activities promoted by the Hannah Arendt Centre, aimed at fostering interdisciplinary dialogue between architecture, politics and public space.
