Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships

Do you have a PhD? Would you like to join UNIVR for 12-24 months of research?
The Hannah Arendt Center for Political Studies invites scholars to present expressions of interest in applying jointly with Ilaria Possenti (Hannah Arendt Center for Political Studies – Department of Human Sciences) for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) in / on “Rethinking equality and freedom for the 21st century”.
We are particularly interested in research that explores the “freedom of equals” (isonomy) in a modern perspective — through the historical and critical reconstruction of theories, practices, and experiences; the theoretical analysis and the problematization of key concepts; the political imagination directed at contemporary challenges in local, regional, or global contexts.
Within this framework, we encourage projects that recognize the political relevance of the social sphere and examine the histories, theories, and practices of freedom of equals in relation to both political and social issues or domains, such as: power, citizenship and the right to have rights; self-government and the commons; processes of subjection and subjectivation; labor, human needs, and social inequalities; race, class, sex, and gender; education and knowledge production; vulnerability and care; the human metabolism with nature (Stoffwechsel), degrowth, and political ecology .
Keywords: Freedom – Equality – Isonomy – Self-government – Citizenship – The right to have rights – Power – Work and Labor – Education – Needs – Race and Class – Sex and Gener – Vulnerability – Care – Political Ecology
