John Boswell (1947-1994), Professor at Yale University and author of pioneering work on the history of homosexuality, died on 24 December 1994. In his memory, the Inter-University Centre of Cultural History (CSC) and the Research Centre PoliTeSse – Politics and Theories of Sexuality (Department of Philosophy, Education and Psychology, University of Verona) organize the symposium  Homosexuality before its modern “invention”, in memory of John Boswell.
