(Un-)Doing Family. From Jesus’ Radical Project to the Early Christian Reception of Genesis 1-2

The seminar will be divided into two parts. In the first part, Mara Rescio will focus on the negative attitudes towards family that the earliest Gospel traditions attribute to Jesus, as well as their problematic reception in ancient Christianity. In the second part, Arianna Rotondo will trace the history of the early Christian readings of the Biblical account of creation, highlighting their different ways to ‘naturalize’ the concept of family.
