Irene Villa is a post-doc researcher in Political Philosophy at the Department of Human Sciences, University of Verona. Villa focuses on feminist philosophy and theory and LGBTQ studies, with particular attention to the political and social ontology of gender and the cultural and political history of sexuality. They have written scholarly and popular contributions on the history of the politicisation of lesbian sexuality in Italy and the United States and on lesbian forms of affect, identity and subculture. Among her books, the monograph The Lavender Menace. Il lesbismo nella teoria femminista e queer (ETS, Pisa 2024), taken from the doctoral thesis discussed at the University of Verona in 2023.
