Is a queer psychoanalysis possible?

2 december 2025 |

For queer subjects, has psychoanalysis been a stigmatizing practice or, on the contrary, a liberating one? Is psychoanalysis irredeemably tied to a phallocentric and Oedipal framework that naturalizes the heteropatriarchal family, or can it be rethought and transformed? Perhaps it has already begun to change. Where do we stand today?

Fabrice Bourlez, philosopher, psychoanalyst, and professor at the École supérieure d’art et de design de Reims and Sciences Po Paris, will address these questions in conversation with Lorenzo Bernini, professor of Political Philosophy and director of the PoliTeSse Research Center – Politics and Theories of Sexuality at the University of Verona.
